Vigilio on stand 3 at the EC Innovation Convention
Vigilio, as Coordinator of the EC FP7 FALLWATCH Research Programme, has been selected to present Vigi’Fall®, 1st domotized and miniaturized fall detection device at the European Commission’s Innovation Convention 2011 on 5-6th December at Brussels.

The Innovation Convention 2011 will be led by the President of the European Commission, Mr. José Manuel Barroso and Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science. It will be Europe’s premier innovation event, with 1,200 or more selected participants. Out of the 450 projects submitted, Vigilio and Vigi’Fall were among the 50 chosen to exhibit at the Convention. A successful Research Programme
Having been performed between Feb. 2009 and Sept. 2011 under Vigilio’s Coordination, the EC FP7 FALLWATCH Research Programme gathered a group of high-tech SMEs: BSE, leader in electronic solutions, Statice Santé, expert in biomaterials, Plastod, specialised in medical adhesives, AEMtec, specialised in microelectronics, NanoCAT, expert in nanomaterials and PMBL, which supplies high performance batteries.
Famous research teams participated in the project: University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble), whose works in the area of health parameters are a reference, QinetiQ, which has contributed to major evolutions in the area of lithium batteries, ITAV, which makes authority in terms of radiofrequencies and the Carnot Institute MIB (Bordeaux) whose research on adhesives and biomaterials are in the vanguard.
In the view of a future international dissemination, Europ Assistance is equally part of the Consortium and AP-HP involved in the clinical validation of the final prototype.
The originality of Vigi’Fall® relies on embedded electronics both miniaturized, patched and radiocommunicating which is without any equivalent around the world in the area of health parameters monitoring in subjects which health status necessitates a permanent survey.

Vigi’Fall® fall detection device
Initiated in close partnership with the UJF Grenoble University, the conception and development of Vigi’Fall® fall detection device has been performed with the support of AP-HP, Europ Assistance, OSEO and the European Commission. Produced by Intervox-Legrand, the famous Quiatil home box with the body sensor, the infrared sensors and the doubt-removal software GATeM constitute Vigi’Fall® device, delivered since the beginning of 2011. The 1st Vigi’Fall® fall detection device has been installed at the end of 2010 and a huge dissemination is to begin shortly with the CG91 support among 100 voluntary elderly persons. With the installation of Vigi’Fall® fall detection device is set the first brick of a domotized health system dedicated to enhanced welfare and security for frail persons. For the first time in the world on such a scale, a fall detection system allows contemplating the preservation of the autonomy with an optimal level of security.
